Out of State Companies May Be Caught in “Web” of NY Jurisdiction

Mark A. Berman, in today’s New York Law Journal, discusses one of the risks of doing business on the internet via a website:  depending on how solicitous a foreign website is to New Yorkers and their business, that website may serve as the basis for jurisdiction in New York in the event of a lawsuit.
