UPDATE: Milberg Firm Continues Tradition of Zero Integrity

In my February 21st posting, I discussed, with a combination of revulsion and amazement, the new clientele being served at the Milberg firm (formerly Milberg Weiss).  These poor, trusting souls are victims of Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme, and they want action taken on their behalf.  Did they know or care that Milberg Weiss had a storied history of fraud all its own, I wondered.

Luckily for the new clients, and anyone else who might be silly enough to trust their legal needs to Milberg, the firm’s old habits have caught up with it again, and it has made the ABAJournal.  Former New York judge Herman Cahn, who in August issued a ruling that allowed disgraced former name partner, Melvyn Weiss, to keep tens of millions of dollars in fees from cases he had worked on, after Weiss  pleaded guilty to paying kickbacks to plaintiffs in Weiss’s own lawsuits, has just landed a job at–you guessed it–the Milberg firm.

I guess there is something to be said for tradition, and continuity.  Please join me in congratulating Mr. Cahn on his new job.
