In regards to your copyright inquiries above, you should look into the DMCA. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act can apply to many types of digital intellectual property found or stored online including software, code, music, literature and other creative and scientific works.

The two sites are identical in purpose. Furthermore the layout and and placement of graphic and content elements are the same. Say what you want about stealing, but no one can argue that the Scarsdale site is a copy of the theloop or at the very least it was heavily influenced by it...

It's way beyond "coincidence".

The least they could have done was mix up the layout a little bit.

BTW—Copyright violation does not require intent. If you independently develop an idea someone else already owns, no matter how innocently, you're still in violation..

Thus far, I have received 2 comments that can best be described as nasty in response to this posting. Not surprisingly, the author is the only commenter in the history of this blog who failed to leave a working return email address, or any other legitimate contact information. The comments are meant for discussion, not cowardly dumping and running. If you'd like to be part of the conversation, you need to play by the rules. Otherwise, you get ignored.

The underlying code is EXACTLY the same between the two sites. Now, I don't know much about copyright law either - but stealing code is akin to stealing anything else (ethically, legally, morally). Has the recession robbed us of our moral compass?
